Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Head of State of Bolivia, Lui\u0301s Alberto Arce Catacora, disembarked, last Thursday night, in Angola, on his way to his country, after participating in the BRICS Summit, from the 22nd to the 24th of this month, in Africa southern.<\/b><\/p>\n

During his layover of nearly an hour, the Bolivian President was welcomed at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, after which he continued on his official plane.<\/p>\n

Luis Alberto Arce Catacora arrived in Angola minutes before the Brazilian PR, Luiz Ina\u0301cio Lula da Silva, who is going on a four-day state visit, until Sunday (the 27th).<\/p>\n

The two statesmen all participated in the same activity, in Johannesburg, the economic capital of South Africa.<\/p>\n

The Bolivian politician, born in La Paz on September 28, 1963, is an economist, accountant, university professor and President since 2020, replacing Evo Morales, with whom he previously worked as Minister of Economy and Public Finance.<\/p>\n

Bolivia is a country in central South America, with varied relief that includes the Andes mountain range, the Atcama desert and the rainforest of the Amazon River basin. Its administrative capital is the city of La Paz and Sucre is its political capital.<\/p>\n

It is divided into nine departments and, geographically, has two distinct regions, the Altiplano to the west and the plains to the east, whose northern part belongs to the Amazon Basin and the southern part to the Rio de la Plata Basin, of which the Bolivian Chaco is part. .<\/p>\n

Officially known as the Plurinational State of Bolivia, it is a country nestled in the center-west of South America. It borders Brazil to the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina to the south, Chile and Peru to the west.<\/p>\n

Bolivia’s economy is based on the oil and gas, mining and agriculture industries.<\/p>\n

The XV BRICS Summit adopted the Declaration of Johannesburg II, a document that summarizes the significant views of that bloc of countries on issues of global economic, financial and political importance.<\/p>\n

It took place under the motto \u201cBRICS and Africa: Partnership for Accelerated Mutual Growth, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Multilateralism\u201d, and was marked by the evolution of discussions on the increase of members.<\/p>\n

This is the first BRICS Summit held in a face-to-face format since the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent global travel restrictions.<\/p>\n

The meeting brought together the leaders of Brazil, Russia (in video conference), India, China and South Africa, in Sandton, Johannesburg, from 22 to 24 August 2023, as a bloc of countries with emerging economies. JD\/MDS<\/p>\n
