Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, this Tuesday appealed to the artistic community to show more solidarity with the Angolan musician and composer Elias Jose\u0301 Francisco “Elias Dia\u0301 Kimuezo”.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister, who was speaking at the end of the courtesy visit to the icon of Angolan music, referred that the solidarity movement must be limited to permanent conversations, accompanied by moments of musical instrumentation, in order to make their time more precious.<\/p>\n

Filipe Zau said that it was a visit of solidarity and verification of his state of health, also caused by his advanced age.<\/p>\n

\u201cElias is one of the greatest cultural and musical references in our country, an icon and I could not fail to come here, not as a minister but as a musician and professional colleague and associates of UNAC\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Filipe Zau, despite considering the state of health of the King of Angolan music to be normal, being 87 years old, did not fail to show concern about this reality.<\/p>\n

During his stay, the minister promised to deliver a walker and a cane, instruments that will facilitate his locomotion, as well as an amount for the purchase of medicines.<\/p>\n

In turn, the musician was pleased with the visit and thanked the gesture of solidarity.<\/p>\n

Biography<\/p>\n

Elias Jose\u0301 Francisco was born on January 2, 1936, in Bairro Marc\u0327al, in Luanda.<\/p>\n

Elias Dia\u0301 Kimuezo began his career in 1950 as a composer in the group \u201cGina\u0301sio\u201d. In 1956, he appeared as a performer and drummer in the group Kizomba, from Sambizanga.<\/p>\n

His constant attendance at Samba Kimu\u0301ngua, in the Bungo area of \u200b\u200bLuanda, where several workers from Porto and the Railways lived who played and danced the Kinganje, made him discover, at the age of 15, his artistic vocation , which led him to join the Turma do Margoso group, as lead vocalist and drummer.<\/p>\n

Two years later, he moved to the group Os Kizombas, which at that time played in the revels of Sala\u0303o Malanjinho, in Bairro do Sambizanga. Over time he improved in the art of singing and became increasingly well known.<\/p>\n

In 1972, for his selfless work in favor of music, he received a statuette referring to the \u201c11 most of the city of Luanda\u201d, which awarded the 11 most outstanding figures in the various professional and social areas in the city of Luanda.<\/p>\n

Since the mid-1960s, Elias Dia\u0301 Kimuezo, for the quality of his work and the constancy of his performance, has been considered \u201cThe King of Angolan Music\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elias Dia\u0301 Kimuezo has songs like \u201cLeonor\u201d, \u200b\u200b\u201cToy Sofia\u201d, \u201cResurrection\u201d, \u201cRailway\u201d, \u201cMwenho ua mundo\u201d, \u201cNzala\u201d, \u201cAgostinho Neto\u201d and \u201cSamba Madie\u0301\u201d.<\/p>\n
