Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The country remains firm in its commitment to peace and international cooperation, based on the sovereignty of States and mutual respect between nations, reaffirmed on Thursday, Johannesburg (South Africa), the Minister of State for Cooperation Economics, Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the plenary of the BRICS Summit, representing the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, the official also highlighted the challenge that the country faces with economic diversification and sustainable and inclusive growth, despite having an annual GDP of around 120 billion of dollars and the countless mineral resources.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the fact that Angola is the seventh largest country in Africa, with a land area of \u200b\u200b1.2 million square kilometers, with around 34 million inhabitants.<\/p>\n

He made it known that the priority of the Angolan Government is the development of human capital, to provide the best opportunities for social inclusion and income generation.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the challenge of food security, which he considers the structuring vehicle of national prosperity, as well as the Executive’s engagement in improving basic infrastructure, in all dimensions, which also contributes to the dynamization of the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur large expanse of fertile land, the favorable climate for agriculture, the many large rivers that cross our country represent a good basis for achieving food security, with the support of the BRICS and cooperation partners, present here\u201d, he stressed. .<\/p>\n

The Minister of State referred to the implementation of macroeconomic reforms in the last five years, which made Angola more accessible and attractive to investment, with opportunities ranging from agriculture, fishing, logging, mining, industrial production, tourism, banking, insurance, construction and telecommunications.<\/p>\n

He recognized the opportunity for a balanced multilateral cooperation and strengthening of mutually advantageous partnerships between countries and communities that pursue common goals of socioeconomic development, provided by the BRICS summit.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano extended an invitation to participants to visit the country and explore sharing opportunities in the spirit of the BRICS.<\/p>\n
