Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola intends to negotiate a new line of credit with Brazil, to finance the construction of school and hospital infrastructure, roads, airports, electricity transmission networks and respective substations, announced Friday, President Joa\u0303o Lawrence.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion of official talks between delegations from both countries, the Angolan Head of State underlined, in addition to infrastructure, the good business environment prevailing in the country.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the holder of the Executive Power appealed to Brazil to create a fund to support private investment, to be used by businessmen interested in doing business in Angola in the areas of commerce, culture, industry and services.<\/p>\n

In the international chapter, the Angolan Head of State considered it important to promote a high-level meeting between the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR), to analyze forms of economic cooperation and development.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o added that the high-level meeting would also serve to analyze aspects of climate change and measures to protect the environment.<\/p>\n

He added that one of the central ideas of the future meeting would be the exploration of the \u201cgreat potential and affinities\u201d existing between these two regional blocs.<\/p>\n

\u201cMuch is said about the importance of south\/south cooperation, in the current context of the unfavorable trade exchanges that our countries maintain with the industrialized and developed north\u201d, noted the Head of State who praised the \u201creturn in strength of Brazil in the international political scenario \u201d.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o also spoke of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, having encouraged all the protagonists to avoid the escalation of the conflict and to embark on the paths of diplomacy and dialogue, in search of a political solution to the conflict.<\/p>\n

In the view of the Angolan statesman, the international community must have the ability to persuade Russia to end this war, encourage and help the parties to establish a ceasefire that will allow the start of a round of negotiations that will lead to a lasting peace.<\/p>\n

According to Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, issues of world peace and security have never been so much at the center of the concerns and agendas of the international community as they are now, with the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, due to the \u201cserious effects\u201d it has had on food, energy security. and humanitarian.<\/p>\n

For this reason, it considers that this issue should be of concern to all those who, faced with such a serious threat, defend the need to build a global security architecture that safeguards the interests of all humanity.<\/p>\n

He stressed, however, that other conflicts such as the Israeli-Palestinian one, the war in Sudan and international terrorism, with emphasis on the situation in the Sahel region, the instability in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and in Cabo Delgado (Mozambique), may fall into oblivion, and should also continue to deserve maximum attention.<\/p>\n

Brazil was the first country to recognize Angola’s independence, proclaimed on November 11, 1975, by President Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto. Its Embassy in Luanda was created by decree in December of the same year.<\/p>\n

Cooperation between Angola and Brazil began to take shape on June 11, 1980, with the signing of the Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement.<\/p>\n

Under this agreement, the two countries developed bilateral cooperation in the areas of health, culture, public administration, professional training, education, environment, sports, statistics and agriculture.<\/p>\n
