Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Three hundred and 28 cases of violation of the border between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were registered, in the last 12 months, by the Border Guard Police in Ui\u0301ge.<\/b><\/p>\n

These are cases of border violations, attempts to enter and leave the country, illegal stay of foreign citizens, drug trafficking, tax evasion, fuel and medication smuggling, among other offences.<\/p>\n

The information was provided this Saturday, in the municipality of Negage, by the commander of the 4th Border Guard Police Unit in Ui\u0301ge, deputy commissioner Domingos Salvador, during the commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the creation of this police unit assigned to the National Police.<\/p>\n

In the same period, the police forces questioned 598 citizens, including nationals and foreigners, who intended to violate the border.<\/p>\n

In turn, the acting Provincial Commander of the National Police in Ui\u0301ge, sub-commissioner Avelino Chissuata, reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to improving the technical and material conditions of the staff, to maintain protection on the border with the DRC.<\/p>\n

The official commissioner took the opportunity to appeal to the PGF staff to maintain readiness and vigilance along the border areas with the DRC, a measure that could prevent the violation of national territory.<\/p>\n

The province of Ui\u0301ge shares a 442 kilometer land and river border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n
