Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The municipal administrator of Cuanhama, in Cunene province, Jose\u0301 Kalomo, asked, this Tuesday, in Ondjiva, the churches to be more engaged in actions of moralization of society through the spread of the Gospel.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at a consultation meeting with religious leaders about the main concerns in the municipality, Jose\u0301 Kalomo, said the need for direct participation of churches in the rescue of moral and civic values.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that, within the scope of their social role, they must continue to carry out the important task of moralizing society, through the spread of the Gospel in the communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the current context, there are challenges from an economic, social and spiritual point of view, with globalization and freedom of expression taking over everything, giving rise to disrespect for State institutions and human dignity\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

For this reason, he pointed out the combination of efforts for the prevention of the evils that affect the municipality, as well as other practices that harm the norms and fundamental principles that govern a society.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the meeting framed in the proximity governance plan, allowed to mobilize the social partners to contribute and promote actions that contribute to the improvement of the municipality’s image.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Kalomo requested the support of religious institutions in order to carry out activities that complement the actions of the local State administration, for the social well-being of the population.<\/p>\n

The meeting addressed issues about the proliferation of religious sects, noise pollution in the city of Ondjiva, the use of public sidewalks for the sale of alcoholic beverages and the inappropriate behavior of some residents.<\/p>\n

The provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of Cunene controls 47 recognized religious denominations, 18 in the process of being legalized and 26 illegal.<\/p>\n
