Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A partnership agreement between the Ombudsman’s Office and the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE) will be signed next September, with a view to cooperation and promotion of the work of both in favor of citizens’ rights and the functioning of administrative bodies, within the framework of the law.<\/b><\/p>\n

The fact was made known this Tuesday, in Luanda, by the ombudsman, Florbela Arau\u0301jo, at the end of a meeting with the head of the IGAE, A\u0302ngelo da Veiga Tavares, during which they \u201cstudied\u201d the strengthening of collaboration in this regard. .<\/p>\n

The agreement will focus, among other aspects, on the defense of citizens’ rights, freedoms and guarantees, as well as support on acts related to corruption and other illegalities practiced by public officials.<\/p>\n

They also constitute mechanisms for cooperation, exchange of information, analysis of denouncements\/complaints and complaints from citizens.<\/p>\n

According to Florbela Arau\u0301jo, the Ombudsman’s Office “has not been found” in relation to issues related to the fight against corruption, which must be reversed, since the body has received complaints from citizens about institutions that have presumably committed illegalities in the exercise of its activity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ombudsman should also be called, because we receive complaints from citizens\u201d, he defended, emphasizing that corruption is also a violation of citizens’ rights.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, it is necessary to be more careful on the part of the IGAE, in order to guide civil servants, public managers and holders of management and leadership positions in relation to the acts they must practice on a day-to-day basis, without harming the State .<\/p>\n

In turn, the general inspector of State administration, A\u0302ngelo Tavares, underlined the importance of the meeting, stressing that it established mechanisms that will allow for faster interaction, and that, ultimately, the rights and citizens’ interests.<\/p>\n

For him, the need for the public administration to comply with the rules and the defense of citizens’ rights are factors that lead institutions to work together in the search for the best way to develop their role.<\/p>\n

Asked to comment on the work of the institution he directs, two months ago, the official said it was premature to make an assessment, insofar as work is being done on the restructuring process of the State Inspectorate General and on the reformulation of legal diplomas. that contribute to the activity of this body.<\/p>\n
