Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of the Province of Bie\u0301 intends to take greater advantage of transporting agricultural products to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, through the Lobito Corridor, aiming to raise more revenue.<\/b><\/p>\n

The wish was expressed in the city of Cuito, by the governor of Bie\u0301, Pereira Alfredo, after granting audiences to the chairman of the Board of Directors of FADA, Felisbela Maria da Costa Francisco, and of the PCA of Agrement, Francisco Assis.<\/p>\n

The official added that the local authorities are already identifying new areas and areas, especially in the field of agriculture, in order to enable exports via the Benguela Railways to the other SADC countries, capitalizing more resources to Bie\u0301.<\/p>\n

For this reason, Pereira Alfredo assured more support to local peasants, with a view to maximizing more and more areas for cultivation, essentially wheat, maize, beans, cassava, rice.<\/p>\n

In July this year, the CFB presented the Cama-Couve train project, to support small producers, which aims to revitalize and diversify their services, based on the offer of new products, supporting the transport of all production that is made in the Lobito corridor and which lacks drainage along the Lobito – Luau \u2013 Lobito railway route.<\/p>\n

The Cama-Couve\u201d train will have a transport capacity of up to 180 seated passengers and 200 tons of small loads.<\/p>\n

The Lobito Railway Corridor extends, in Angola, for almost 1,300 kilometers, passing through the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Bie\u0301 and Moxico.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the infrastructure continues in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Kolwezi, in Zambia, a distance of 400 kilometers.<\/p>\n
