Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial deputy governor of Benguela for the Technical and Infrastructure sector, Adilson Gonc\u0327alves, guaranteed Friday, the continuity of investments in basic sanitation, to make cities cleaner.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the official, who was speaking at the handover of four vehicles for the collection of solid waste destined for the municipalities of Benguela and Lobito, this investment will boost the aforementioned districts, which have the highest population rates.<\/p>\n

“The municipalities now benefited are those that produce the most waste at the level of urban hulls, although these means are still insufficient”, he said.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the vice-governor guided municipal administrators to prioritize good management of equipment, with periodic maintenance, to improve the image of cities.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he informed that the Government acquired other means to, in the coming days, reinforce the municipalities of Catumbela and Bai\u0301a Farta.<\/p>\n

He also announced the portfolio project for the construction of new sanitary landfills for the municipalities of Benguela and Lobito, whose survey has already been carried out and will be included in the next 2024\/2025 budget.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the municipal administrator of Lobito, Evaristo Kalopa Ma\u0301rio, said that the means will prioritize the upper part of the city and overcome the challenges of sanitation, as well as reduce the collection interval periods in the urban perimeter.<\/p>\n

The deputy municipal administrator of Benguela, Joa\u0303o Toma\u0301s Anto\u0301nio, said that the two means will be destined for the neighborhoods with the highest concentration of garbage, in zones A, B and F, respectively.<\/p>\n

He informed that the municipality has only two operational vehicles and, with these means, there will be greater rationalization of them, looking at the maintenance that should be followed by the same supplier company.<\/p>\n

The person in charge assured that the administration has enough boats and, therefore, there will be easier mobility in the collection.<\/p>\n

According to the deputy administrator, due to the size of the city, two collection vehicles are needed for each zone and the municipality has six zones. The municipality of Benguela had only two functional vehicles, which now rise to four.<\/p>\n
