{"id":43704,"date":"2023-09-04T06:25:45","date_gmt":"2023-09-04T06:25:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=43704"},"modified":"2023-09-04T05:18:29","modified_gmt":"2023-09-04T05:18:29","slug":"ces-suggests-boosting-agriculture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/ces-suggests-boosting-agriculture","title":{"rendered":"CES suggests boosting agriculture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The dynamization of agriculture, industry, as well as the fight against hunger and poverty are among the suggestions presented at this Saturday&#8217;s meeting of the Economic and Social Council (CES), the consultation body of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the press at the end of the session, CES coordinator Octa\u0301vio Serra Van-Du\u0301nem said he hoped that the &#8220;lines of strength&#8221; presented could &#8220;help the President of the Republic and the Executive to find immediate solutions&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>These are solutions for the socio-economic development of the country, in order to counteract the difficulties that the Angolan economy faces, with a negative impact on the lives of families and companies.<\/p>\n<p>We understand, continued the coordinator, that in the suggested axes there are programs to be developed that fall short of what are the needs, above all, the expectations of the populations.<\/p>\n<p>Octa\u0301vio Serra Van-Du\u0301nem referred that the proposals are contained in documents and presentations made during the meeting, having underlined that the intention is to have greater speed in the implementation of these actions.<\/p>\n<p>Among the lines of action, he noted that one is linked to the methodologies used by Government institutions in the implementation of programs and projects and others on the issue of speed.<\/p>\n<p>He said that other important aspects may arise, namely, human capital, the formation of human capital and the enhancement of actions that are often carried out without also taking into account the opinion of the citizen.<\/p>\n<p>VAT reduction<\/p>\n<p>As for the reduction of the Value Added Tax (VAT), from 14 percent to seven percent, under debate in the National Assembly, Octa\u0301vio Serra Van-Du\u0301nem said that once put into practice, the measure will ease the situation of companies.<\/p>\n<p>He added that if the reduction of the Value Added Tax rate is approved, it will be welcomed by the Economic and Social Council.<\/p>\n<p>Created in 2020 by the President of the Republic, CES is a space for dialogue with society.
