Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, praised Saturday, in the municipality of Amboim (Cuanza Sul), the importance of scouting in the education and comprehensive training of adolescents and young people and in safeguarding patriotic values, in favor of a more harmonious.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the closing of the V National Scout Camp, the official justified that Scouting has contributed to the education of citizens through the transmission of a set of social values, including patriotism, love of neighbor, solidarity and volunteering.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he encouraged the Association of Scouts of Angola (AEA) to continue to promote brotherhood among the youth, for the construction of a more cohesive society.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoung people are the most expressive asset of any society, they are the driving force, so they have increased responsibilities in maintaining and perpetuating the highest social values. For this reason, they must continue to promote solidarity and the spirit of mutual help, to reinforce social cohesion\u201d, she stressed.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the minister reaffirmed the Executive’s commitment to the implementation of policies with a view to ensuring greater insertion of this fringe in working life, including the promotion of entrepreneurship and the reinforcement of the institutional capacity of youth organisations.<\/p>\n

On her turn, the deputy governor of Cuanza Sul for the political, economic and social sector, Emi\u0301lia Tchinawalile, welcomed the choice of the province to host the event and guaranteed the support of the local government to the initiatives of civil society organisations.<\/p>\n

In her address, the official encouraged the youth to continue to contribute to the economic and social development of the country, always striving for dialogue and respect for differences.<\/p>\n

Under the motto \u201cPlanet, our duty and mission\u201d, the national camp took place from the 27th of August to the 2nd of September, in the town of Bruvil, and was attended by more than 10,000 scouts from the 18 provinces of the country, as well as guests from Portugal and Brazil.<\/p>\n

During the event, participants carried out various activities divided into twelve modules, with emphasis on sharing experiences, lectures on the preservation of the environment and public goods, as well as solidarity campaigns and short-term training actions.<\/p>\n

The AEA controls more than 60,000 members across the country, of which 6,000 are adult volunteers.<\/p>\n
