Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola starts this Monday the dispute of the World Junior Swimming Championship, in the Netanya pool, in Israel, with the focus on improving times and national records.<\/b><\/p>\n

With five competitions on the opening day, the National Team kicks off the competition with sprinters Nyriam Morais and Carlota Silva, in the 100-metre backstroke.<\/p>\n

Nyriam and Carlota are the fastest national swimmers in this age group, the former was distinguished MVP in zone IV, between 13-14 years old, last May.<\/p>\n

Carlota makes her debut with the national team, after winning three gold medals in the national absolute contested last July.<\/p>\n

Still in women’s category, the country makes its debut. also, on Monday, with the experienced N’hara Fernandes and Stephanie Jurado, in the 50m breaststroke.<\/p>\n

N’hara is runner-up in the African zonal IV, over this distance, with a time of 37.02, by securing the silver medal in the last African Championship in the region, held in May this year, while Stephanie has evolved at a competitive level internally .<\/p>\n

In men’s, the group coordinated by technical director Artur Henriques starts with David Padre, in the 400m freestyle, Yusseni Furtado, in the 100m backstroke, in addition to Jose\u0301 Cochofel and Janel Tati, in the 100m breaststroke.<\/p>\n

The four have international representations for the selection in competitions on the continent. Yusseni Furtado is the most experienced among the boys, after participating in the edition of this world event, in 2022, in the Peruvian city of Lima.<\/p>\n

Angola is also taking part in the event with swimmers Enze Anjos and Jasmine Lourenc\u0327o, who will be on stage on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

This Sunday, in Luanda, the swimmer Janel Tati said that the objective is to obtain the best mark possible, try to set national records and dignify the country’s flag.<\/p>\n

He added that it is a competition that involves the best athletes in the world, however, the focus is on overcoming yourself.<\/p>\n

Angola makes its fifth presence at an event of its kind, after editions in the United Arab Emirates (2013), Singapore (2015), Budapest, Hungary (2019) and Peru (2022).<\/p>\n
