Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, is in Equatorial Guinea, where he is participating, in Djibloho, in the extraordinary summit of the Community of Central African States (CEEAC), says the page of the Presidency of the Republic of Angola on Facebook.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Summit aims to provide the organization with leadership and avoid a legal vacuum and ensure the continuity of its activities, following the coup d’e\u0301tat that took place in Gabon and which deposed the elected President, Ali Bongo Ondinga.<\/p>\n

In the early hours of Wednesday (30) a group of military personnel from the Gabonese army announced a coup d’e\u0301tat, on national television, after the release of the results of the general elections in that country.<\/p>\n

The deposed Head of State of Gabon assumed, last February, the rotating leadership of ECCAS, replacing his counterpart from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Fe\u0301lix Tshisekedi.<\/p>\n

The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) was created in Libreville, Gabon, in December 1981, becoming operational only in 1985.<\/p>\n

ECCAS aims to promote cooperation and self-sustainable development, with particular emphasis on the stability and economic integration of Member States and contribute to improving the quality of life of the respective populations.<\/p>\n

The Community comprises Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda, Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n
