Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, confirmed this Wednesday the operation and level of production of the Quizenga Lutete farm, in the municipality of Cacuso, province of Malanje.<\/b><\/p>\n

There, the Executive Power Holder witnessed the launch of the sowing, in an area of \u200b\u200btwo thousand hectares, for the 2023\/2024 agricultural season, with a forecast harvest of 11 thousand tons of corn and three thousand tons of soybeans.<\/p>\n

Also at the Quizenga Lutete farm, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o was at the Water Collection Center and visited the cultivation fields.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the president of the Gesterra Board of Directors, Carlos Paim, informed that in the 2022-2023 agricultural season the farm harvested seven thousand tons of corn and two thousand tons of soybeans.<\/p>\n

The Quizenga Lutete farm is an agricultural project run by the Angolan Executive aimed at the production of corn and soybeans and professional training for young producers.<\/p>\n

Budgeted at more than 100 million US dollars, the initiative aims to boost the country’s agricultural sector, through the transfer of land, taxed availability of machinery, financing and institutional support.<\/p>\n

President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o’s trip to Quizenga Lutete occurs at a time when the agricultural unit has 840 hectares in preparation for 50 of the 150 young producers trained by Gesterra and settled on the farm, where each one benefited from five hectares of land and a chicken coop.<\/p>\n

Created in 2019, the farm began producing in September 2022 and aims to contribute to reducing poverty within the communities of Quizenga and beyond, through different lines of action, such as generating employment and supporting young farmers.<\/p>\n

The unit, which occupies an area of \u200b\u200b5 thousand hectares, has four silos with a capacity of nine thousand tons, a feed factory with an average production of 20 tons\/day and a seed classification machine.<\/p>\n

The production unit has 190 national workers and four expatriates.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o arrived in Malanje to complete a two-day working day in the region.<\/p>\n
