Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Forests, Andre\u0301 Moda, defended Friday, in the municipality of Quitexe, province of Ui\u0301ge, better forestry management in the country, in order to create jobs and contribute to the fight against hunger and poverty within families.<\/b><\/p>\n

Andre\u0301 Moda made these considerations when speaking at the meeting he held with traditional authorities and social consultation members from the municipalities of Quitexe and Ambuila, to explain the implementation of the Exploration Program of the Forestry Concession Regime.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the province of Ui\u0301ge is one of the largest with forest coverage in the country, with a volume of 40 thousand cubic meters of wood harvested\/year.<\/p>\n

He said that a strong and modern forestry industry contributes to the development of localities, justifying that it creates jobs for young people and, subsequently, fights hunger and poverty.<\/p>\n

He recalled that forests are part of the country’s three strategic resources, after oil and diamonds.<\/p>\n

He also defended the need for the traditional authorities of the two locations to collaborate with companies that intend to invest in timber exploration.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the person in charge, who ends his three-day working day in the province of Ui\u0301ge, explained, in detail, the Forest Exploration Program under the Concession Regime.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by traditional authorities, defense and security agencies, logging companies, among other guests.<\/p>\n

In the municipality of Quitexe, Andre\u0301 Moda, accompanied by members of the local government and administrators of Quitexe and Ambuila, visited a logging company.<\/p>\n

He recalled that logging companies must plant trees within the framework of forest concessions.<\/p>\n
