Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Forty-eight million and 600 thousand euros are being invested in projects linked to the sectors of agriculture, water and health, in the municipality of Moc\u0327a\u0302medes, province of Namibe.<\/b><\/p>\n

Named \u201cMATUNING\u201d, the projects financed by the European Union, developed by the FRESAM program, aim to contribute to the reduction of hunger, poverty and vulnerability of communities affected by drought in this province.<\/p>\n

The program manager, Catarina Tormenta, explained that the project aims to create a school campus for the production of fodder for pastures, as well as strengthening family farming, focusing on the conservation and sustainable use of soils.<\/p>\n

FRESAM’s action program also includes the implementation of a water system in the Saco-Mar and Ai\u0301da neighbourhoods, in the municipality of Moc\u0327a\u0302medes, to reinforce the irrigation capacity of crops and the supply of precious liquid to the population.<\/p>\n

The municipality will also benefit from this financing, the construction of five cooperative headquarters with their respective warehouses, for the conservation of all production from the 04 de Marc\u0327o neighborhood.<\/p>\n

For the administrator of the municipality of Moc\u0327a\u0302medes, Abel Kapitango, the projects will help minimize some of the difficulties experienced by residents, especially with regard to the supply of drinking water.<\/p>\n

This is a joint initiative with the Government of Angola to reduce hunger, poverty and vulnerability in communities affected by drought in the south of the country, in the provinces of Cunene, Hui\u0301la and Namibe.<\/p>\n
