Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The female relay of the Junior National Swimming Team set a new record in the 4×100 meters freestyle, with a time of 4:16.93, on the fifth day of the World Championship, taking place in Netanya (Israel).<\/b><\/p>\n

The national combined surpassed the previous record of 4:37.44, dated October 30, 2022.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth collective record, after those made in the men’s 4x100m freestyle with a time of 3:47.95, breaking the previous one (3:59.98) beaten by the juniors of Clube Na\u0301utico de Luanda, on January 28, 2023.<\/p>\n

In the 4x200m freestyle, the national team produced 8:43.38, breaking the old 1.o de Agosto record of 9:18.79, established in the absolute national championship, last July.<\/p>\n

In women’s, a mark of 10:01.88 was achieved in the 4x200m freestyle, which undoes the record of 10:38.96 from 1o de Agosto, broken in July 2023.<\/p>\n

The country shone with sprinter N’hara Fernandes who secured 49th position among 91 opponents, with a time of 27.94, in the 50 meter freestyle, improving her previous world performance, held in the Peruvian city of Lima, in which she achieved 28.92 .<\/p>\n

At this same distance, N’hara was joined by compatriot Carlota Silva, who occupied 66th position, with a mark of 28.68.<\/p>\n

In another women’s event, Angolan Nyriam Morais excelled in the 100m butterfly by securing 50th place, with a time of 1:11.43.<\/p>\n

Faced with 56 opponents, the Angolan swimmer surpassed herself compared to her first appearance (01:13.63), in Lima, Peru.<\/p>\n

Newcomer Stephanie Jurado was left without registration after disqualification.<\/p>\n

In men, Yusseni Furtado ranked 70th out of 97 competitors, registering 55.64, while compatriot Jose\u0301 Cochofel was 72nd, with 55.71.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Cochofel returned to the scene in the 50m breaststroke, placing 48th with 33.20, in the event that Enzo Anjos placed 50th with 33.50, among 56 competitors.<\/p>\n

This is Angola’s fifth presence in an event of its kind, after editions in the United Arab Emirates (2013), Singapore (2015), Budapest, Hungary (2019) and Peru (2022).<\/p>\n
