Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The \u201cAccident prevention system with danger detection lenses\u201d, developed by two former students from the Luanda Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), won the \u201cTechnological innovation award\u201d category at the Technological Innovation Fair, which ended this Saturday , in the country’s capital.<\/b><\/p>\n

It is a technological solution, created by Daniela Caxinda and Jose\u0301 Conde, which aims to reduce the rate of road accidents caused by \u201cdrowsy drivers\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, those awarded in the \u201cTechnological Innovation Award\u201d category received two laptop computers (one for each member), a Zap Premium package, with one year’s payment, and an HD Box (High Definition Decoder).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, mid-level technicians in Electronics and Telecommunications, who completed the 13th class in 2022, at ITEL, will also benefit from a professional internship paid by the company Sistec, as assured by the general director of ITEL, Cla\u0301udio Gonc\u0327alves, during the act of closing of the 14th of FITITEL\/2023.<\/p>\n

After receiving the award, Daniela Caxinda clarified that the accident prevention system with hazard detection lenses, developed in four months, has, among other components, a type of sensor that wakes up the driver in a state of drowsiness or under the influence of sleep. , in addition to immobilizing the vehicle, avoiding collisions on the road.<\/p>\n

In order for this technology to be effectively materialized in the country, the specialist requested the support of businesspeople or individuals to sponsor the respective project.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need people who can finance our project, with a view to increasingly innovating the technological solution and putting it at the service of Angolan society\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

As for the three days of FITITEL, Daniela Caxinda considered the event useful, as it allowed her to interact with the project’s potential sponsors and exchange technological experiences.<\/p>\n

In addition to the accident prevention project, the other award went to the \u201cMotorcycle taxi driver customer control system\u201d, a solution that was also developed by two students from ITEL’s Electronics and Telecommunications course.<\/p>\n

This technological tool makes it possible to operate the motorbike with just the use of a helmet, in addition to helping to locate the motorcycle and control the daily billing of this moving vehicle, according to Jacinto Nginga, one of the mentors behind the respective technology.<\/p>\n

The best projects in the multimedia system and the IT course were also awarded, which also received a Zap package with six months paid and two computers, respectively.<\/p>\n

The award ceremony, witnessed by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Pascoal Fernandes, was also marked by the awarding of honorable mentions to the media outlets that ensured full coverage of the event.<\/p>\n

Running from the 7th to the 9th of this month, FITITEL\/2023 aimed, essentially, to showcase the skills and competencies that students acquired during the four years of training, presenting solutions that solve business and social problems.<\/p>\n

Over three days, the event saw more than four thousand and five hundred visitors, who interacted with more than 40 exhibitors, including students, former students and companies in the telecommunications sector.<\/p>\n

Promoted by the Luanda Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), with support from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication (MINTTICS), the event took place under the motto “Technological innovation at the service of road safety”.<\/p>\n
