Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The construction works at the Viana General Hospital are 82 percent physically complete and could be completed in December of this year.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided this Saturday during the working visit of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, to the infrastructure, during which he received explanations about the progress of the project.<\/p>\n

When completed, the reference hospital unit in this district will have capacity for<\/p>\n

356 beds, including 34 cots, according to data from the Studies and Planning Office of the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

Valued at 125 million and 500 thousand euros, the hospital unit will be able to employ 1,200 employees, including doctors, nurses, imaging and laboratory technicians.<\/p>\n

The project, located in the Urban District of Zango, municipality of Viana, has a financial execution of 86 percent.<\/p>\n

Under construction since August 2021, the infrastructure is being built in an area of \u200b\u200b25 thousand square meters and will have five operating rooms, eight inpatient wards, a centralized diagnostic center, among other services.<\/p>\n

The emergency service will have obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics and general medicine sectors.<\/p>\n

In external consultations there will be general medicine, cardiology, neurology, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics\/traumatology, gynecology\/obstetrics, stomatology, urology, general surgery, anesthesiology and oncology.<\/p>\n

The Viana General Hospital will also have an endoscopy service, laboratories, imaging, dialysis, operating room and rehabilitation and therapy.<\/p>\n

With more than two million inhabitants, Viana is one of the most populous municipalities in the province of Luanda and with the greatest lack of healthcare facilities.<\/p>\n
