Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary of the Agostinho Neto Pioneers Organization (OPA) in the province of Huambo, Clementina Ca\u0302ndido, valued, this Friday, the Angolan Government’s commitment to the construction of cultural and recreational infrastructures.<\/b><\/p>\n

The person in charge, who was speaking at the end of a visit by OPA members to the future Huambo Cultural Center, as part of the commemorative activities National Hero Day, which takes place on the 17th of this month, said that the infrastructure contributes to elevation, promotion and dissemination of culture in all aspects.<\/p>\n

He said that the infrastructure construction constitutes a great gain for the province of Huambo and beyond, as it will house several services and provide jobs for dozens of young people.<\/p>\n

He added that it will also contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of this region of the country’s Central Highlands, hence the appreciation of the Government’s investment in similar ventures.<\/p>\n

The OPA in the province of Huambo controls 25 thousand children, aged eight to 17, with a focus on discipline and safeguarding socioeconomic well-being.<\/p>\n

The Pioneiro Agostinho Neto Organization (OPA) was founded on December 1, 1963.<\/p>\n

Characteristics of the Huambo Cultural Center<\/p>\n

Built on an area of \u200b\u200bthree hectares, at a confluence between Norton de Matos and Granja avenues, as well as the street that goes down towards Deolinda Rodrigues square, the infrastructure, whose works were committed in September 2011 and resumed in 2022, after five years of closure, it will consist of three cinema theaters, with 500, 150 and 100 seats, respectively, two conference rooms, a space for the presentation of works of art, literature and music, two rooms for dance classes, equal number for fine arts and crafts and one for exhibitions.<\/p>\n

Upon completion, it will also feature 11 artistic and cultural specialty stores, two top-of-the-range restaurants, one of which is on the 2nd floor, overlooking the upper part of the city, two cafes facing the lower part of the city, support areas for actors and musicians during their performances on stage and two rooms for music classes, a bar, police station, a refrigerator, children’s playground, drinks store, two multifunction rooms, an open-air restaurant, with performance area, a covered pedestrian walkway, among other spaces\u201d.<\/p>\n

As for the OPA’s visit to this location, despite it still being unfinished, it aimed to inform the members of the association of its strengths and current situation, and the minors are satisfied with what they observed, as they anticipate its entry into operation yet this year.<\/p>\n

Also to celebrate National Hero month, it is on the local OPA’s agenda, in addition to visiting social facilities, Huambo Calunga’s tomb, a musical-cultural activity in the municipality of Londuimbali and an excursion to the Nganda Lakawe stones.<\/p>\n
