Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE) approved 22 new projects, of which 14 are in the implementation phase, from January to August this year, in an investment of two billion kwanzas.<\/b><\/p>\n

The announcement was made this Tuesday, in Luanda, by the president of the ZEE Board of Directors, Manuel Pedro, during the usual \u201cbriefing\u201d of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the manager said that the approved projects guarantee a significant impact on national production and job creation.<\/p>\n

In eight months, he said, the 14 projects being implemented created around seven thousand new jobs, a number that is expected to increase to 17 thousand jobs, with the execution of another six.<\/p>\n

According to Manuel Pedro, the operating volume of business will be set at around six billion kwanzas, focused on national production to contribute to the diversification of the economy and promotion of exports.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Secretary of State for Economy, Ivan do Santos, called on private sector operators to lead the process of diversifying the national economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe private sector of the national economy must lead the process of national economic diversification, based on the production and transformation of products\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

Located in the municipality of Viana (Luanda), in an area of \u200b\u200b4,717 hectares, the Special Economic Zone is dedicated to the implementation of industrial projects.<\/p>\n

Created in 2009, as part of the local dynamization strategy, the ZEE also includes a commercial hub, housing projects, services and other investments.<\/p>\n

Among the objectives of Angola’s largest industrial park are promoting national production, attracting private investment, creating jobs and contributing to the diversification of the national economy.<\/p>\n
