Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Commerce, Amadeu Nunes, highlighted last Monday, in Geneva (Switzerland), the macroeconomic reforms implemented by the Angolan Government as a factor that has promoted private investment in the country, with emphasis on economic diversification.<\/b><\/p>\n

Quoted in a press release, the Angolan leader was speaking during the session of the Reinforced Integrated Framework (EIF) meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which is taking place in Switzerland.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Amadeu Nunes pointed out the inclusion of the National Production Support Program in the National Development Plan (PND) strategy as fundamental for the growth of the country’s economy.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the introduction of the Value Added Tax (VAT), the Budgetary Responsibility Law, the liberalization of exchange rates and the privatization of public companies as important reforms registered in the economic sector, with a view to achieving an environment of healthy business.<\/p>\n

In this regard, the government official highlighted that Angola benefited from technical assistance related to trade, through the Institutional Support and Strengthening of Institutional and Human Capacities project.<\/p>\n

Regarding sharing experience and training in the region, the Secretary of State for Commerce recalled Angola’s inclusion in the SADC Free Trade Area and African Continental Free Trade, which in recent years resulted in the training of 50 micro-technology technicians. entrepreneurs, private sector cross-border traders, as well as professional associations.<\/p>\n

Under the motto “Learning from the experiences of countries benefiting from the Program”, the event organized by the World Trade Organization brings together 51 countries, of which 46 are least developed, in terms of aid to trade, with the aim of boosting growth, inclusive development and sustainable, as well as poverty reduction.<\/p>\n
