Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ombudsman, Florbela Arau\u0301jo, called for the urgent need to reflect on public policies linked to the treatment of pensioners’ issues.<\/b><\/p>\n

Florbela Arau\u0301jo spoke, yesterday, in Luanda, at a meeting with the Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security, Pedro Jose\u0301 Filipe, to discuss retirement pensions for the elderly, adding that many of the pensioners’ cases are related to the bureaucracy of the institutions. in dealing with the survivor’s pension.<\/p>\n

The meeting, highlighted the provider, served to present various issues related to Public Administration, including salary policy measures, the valorization of human resources, public policies and training and professional development programs.<\/p>\n

The meeting, said the provider, aims to ensure cooperation with other State institutions, defense and promotion of the rights, freedoms and fundamental guarantees of citizens, in accordance with paragraph 3, article 2, of the Organic Law and the Statute of the Ombudsman.<\/p>\n

Florbela Arau\u0301jo requested greater supervision from inspectors when charging companies that do not pay workers’ Social Security pensions. Regarding the issue of unsubsidized internships, she considered it necessary to have a diploma, to provide decent internships to those who apply for jobs.<\/p>\n

Of all the questions raised, Florbela Arau\u0301jo asked that there be an urgent need to reflect on the policies and measures of Public Administration reform and Modernization and less bureaucracy in dealing with pensioners’ issues.<\/p>\n

“We recognize that, currently, the Executive has carried out a major reform, but awareness must be raised among employees of certain bodies, mainly on issues related to Social Security”, said the Ombudsman.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security, Pedro Jose\u0301 Filipe, recognized that some procedures must be corrected and some legislation adjusted to the current context, having highlighted that it is the Executive’s concern<\/p>\n

“It is the Executive’s concern and we have been working in this direction. In the coming days, we may eventually have more public elements. We would like to assure you here that we have been working on a process to guarantee greater equity in salary policy”, highlighted Pedro Jose\u0301 Filipe.<\/p>\n

As for professional internships, the Secretary of State highlighted that they should deserve a new look, taking into account the approval of Decree 332, which essentially served to guarantee the insertion of young people into the job market.<\/p>\n

In relation to public competitions, specifically for the admission of people with physical disabilities, Pedro Jose\u0301 Filipe explained that the Accessibility Law provides 4 percent for Public Administration and two percent for the Business Sector.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS) recognized that, for a long time, this law did not have the necessary rigor in compliance to achieve the desired percentages.<\/p>\n

The president of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Social Security, Anselmo Monteiro, justified that the non-payment of insured taxpayers and pensioners is the result of the previous structure not meeting demand, stressing that he has held meetings with unions to participate in a deliberative manner in the performance of Social Security.<\/p>\n
