Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Nineteen thousand 460 vulnerable families from the municipalities of Kiwaba Nzoji, Cahombo and Marimba will be included, starting this month, in the Social Protection Strengthening Program \u201cKwenda\u201d, within the scope of the third phase of expansion of the project.<\/b><\/p>\n

Of the total households, four thousand 680 are from the municipality of Kiwaba Nzoji, eight thousand 43 from Cahombo and eight thousand 964 from Marimba.<\/p>\n

With the inclusion of the three new municipalities, Kwenda in Malanje will have 60 thousand 101 beneficiaries from seven municipalities.<\/p>\n

Currently, 40 thousand 641 families in the municipalities of Cambundi-catembo, Luquembo, Quirima and Calandula are being assisted, with a semi-annual income of 66 thousand kwanzas, at a rate of 11 thousand\/month.<\/p>\n

The information was released Wednesday, by the provincial director of the Local Development Institute (FAS), Gomes Golambole, during the ceremony to present the program and sign the memorandum by the institute and the Municipal Administration of Kiwaba Nzoji.<\/p>\n

He made it known that the ceremony also served to clarify the population about the intricacies of Kwenda, in order to avoid misinformation, which will be followed by the phases of identifying the villages, filling in the vulnerability matrix, mass registration and finally the delivery of the values .<\/p>\n

He explained that the process should last around 45 days in each municipality.<\/p>\n

Regarding the productive inclusion component, the director said that 400 families, previously formed, will benefit from cutting and sewing kits, metalwork, soap making, decoration and carpentry, with the aim of generating income.<\/p>\n

However, the municipal administrator of Kiwaba Nzoji, Jose\u0301 Neves, highlighted the importance of the program in alleviating poverty in rural areas and guaranteed the engagement of administrative, traditional and religious authorities in the region in raising awareness among residents.<\/p>\n

Operated by the Local Development Fund (FAS), Kwenda was created in 2020 by the Angolan Executive, with a view to creating policies to support the most needy families.<\/p>\n

A Presidential initiative, the program is valued at 420 million US dollars and is financed by the World Bank, with 320 million dollars, while the other 100 million comes from the National Treasury.<\/p>\n

In addition to monetary social transfers, Kwenda also has the components of Productive Inclusion, Municipalization of Social Action through the creation of Integrated Social Action Centers (CASI) and the Strengthening of the Single Social Registry.<\/p>\n
