Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>From this Wednesday, Angola has the first Ring for the practice of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) \u201cCage Keydje\u201d, certified by the International Federation.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Combat Ring was set up today at the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion, in Luanda, the venue that will host the African Amateur Championship of the sport.<\/p>\n

The president of the Angolan MMA Federation, Armando Diogo, said that this was the first professional Keydje in the country, acquired in Dubai.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that there are some MMA Combat Rings in certain gyms, but they are not professional and do not have certification from the governing body of the sport in the world.<\/p>\n

He added that the objective is to obtain five more Keydje for the North, South, East and Center regions, within the framework of the policy of massification of this combat sport.<\/p>\n

This first edition of the event that Angola hosts will be witnessed by the Director of the International MMA Federation for the African continent, Raymond Philips, among other figures from the continent.<\/p>\n

According to the program, Thursday will take place the last medical tests, the technical meeting as well as the Ordinary Assembly of the African MMA Confederation (AMMAC).<\/p>\n

The conclave will take place from 2 pm, in one of the hotels in the country’s capital.<\/p>\n

Competitions start on Friday. Before that, the opening ceremony takes place at 9 am and then the fights from 10 am to 5 pm.<\/p>\n
