Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The distinction of the former National Team player, A\u0302ngelo Victoriano, in the Hall of Fame, by the International Association of Basketball Federation (FIBA), represents prestige for Angola in the context of nations.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Dalva Ringote, who spoke at the ceremony honoring the former African champions’ defender, this is a recognition from FIBA \u200b\u200bMundo that is not given to just any athlete.<\/p>\n

In his speech, during the activity carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, at the Sports Gallery, in Luanda, he said that A\u0302ngelo Victoriano’s distinction elevates the name of the country and Angolans.<\/p>\n

For her, it also marks the contribution made to the global development of the sport, where the former basketball player stands out, after the former center Jean Jacques da Conceic\u0327a\u0303o, who in 2013 deserved equal recognition.<\/p>\n

He said he hopes that similar initiatives will occur with other former national athletes.<\/p>\n

For the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, it is a recognition that makes everyone proud and that motivates new generations to strive for better results in competitions inside and outside the country.<\/p>\n

In turn, the honoree, A\u0302ngelo Victoriano, highlighted that it is an award that also reflects the support he has always received from different teammates, national teams and coaches.<\/p>\n

He stressed that it was a unique moment that had been awaited for a long time, hoping that more Angolan players would also be included.<\/p>\n

During the very well attended event, A\u0302ngelo Victoriano officially handed over the trophy and certificate to the Minister of State for Social Area, Dalva Ringote, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa.<\/p>\n

Among the figures present, highlights include Victor de Carvalho, Miguel Lutonda, Kicas Gomes, Armando Costa, Edmar Victoriano \u201cBaduna\u201d, Victor Muzadi, as well as Gustavo da Conceic\u0327a\u0303o.<\/p>\n

A\u0302ngelo Vitoriano, 55 years old, began his sporting career in 1982, at the age of 14, in the Maianga neighborhood. Two years later, at 16, he transferred to Petro de Luanda.<\/p>\n

Wearing the tricolor jersey, he was called up for the first time to join the junior National Team to compete in the African Championship in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

Moving to 1.o de Agosto, he accumulated a rich record, particularly the three African Champion Clubs’ Cup trophies.<\/p>\n

With the National Senior Team he won eight African titles in 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005, being the only Angolan and African player to achieve this feat.<\/p>\n
