Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Anto\u0301nia Nelumba, considered Sunday, in Caxito, the founder of the Nation, Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, a visionary man for the time in which he lived.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, at the end of the laying of a wreath on the bust of the first President of Angola, in connection with National Hero Day which is celebrated yesterday, the governor said that Neto understood world phenomena well and always pointed in the right direction for Angolans to move towards their independence,<\/p>\n

He recalled that the founder of the nation always pointed out the right path to solving the people’s problems, with emphasis on investing in agriculture and the development of industry.<\/p>\n

He highlighted Neto as a poet, whose poems he used to draw attention to the conditions in which Angolans lived and the need for solidarity and love for others.<\/p>\n

Also within the scope of the National Hero Day celebrations, the secretary of the Provincial Youth Council (CPJ) in Bengo, Sabino Rodrigues, stated that Neto’s life and work should not only be remembered in September, but every day.<\/p>\n

When speaking during a colloquium about the life and work of the founder of the nation, he said it was necessary to make his achievements felt in schools so that knowledge can be passed from generation to generation.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Bandeira, professor, defended the need to include information about Neto’s life and work in the teaching and learning process.<\/p>\n

For the teacher, the inclusion of these teachings in teaching would allow future generations to better understand the life of the one who was the founder of the Angolan nation.<\/p>\n

He considered Agostinho Neto not only an academic figure, but the driving force behind the liberation struggle of African countries.<\/p>\n

For student Lopes de Oliveira, Agostinho Neto’s achievements should be transmitted regularly to young people, as he represents a model in the country’s history.<\/p>\n

The history professor, Ada\u0303o Cristo\u0301va\u0303o Neto, highlighted the political, social and cultural path of the founder of the nation as being a servant of societies, since as a doctor, he managed to practice his profession and at the same time work underground.<\/p>\n

His works constitute a historical and cultural collection of the country, he said.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto was born in the village of Kaxicane, municipality of Icolo e Bengo, current province of Luanda, on September 17, 1922 and died on September 10, 1979, in Moscow (Russia).<\/p>\n
