Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The 1st secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, Jose\u0301 Martins, requested this Tuesday greater engagement of young people in academic and professional training, to contribute to the sustainable development of the province.<\/b><\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Martins made this request when he was speaking at the opening of the 1st Edition of the Book, Art and Culture Fair, part of the days alluding to the month of the National Hero, taking place until the 30th, in an initiative of the provincial secretariat of JMPLA of Cuando Cubango.<\/p>\n

The politician requested greater involvement of related structures, to promote and encourage youth in ensuring a substantial improvement in their social conditions, which will allow the country to develop, taking into account the new challenges and new ambitions of the modern world.<\/p>\n

The first secretary appealed to youth to focus on training, discipline and mutual respect, abandoning less urban acts, such as vandalism, domestic violence, excessive use of alcoholic beverages and other actions that do not contribute to the edification of society.<\/p>\n

He encouraged young people from all strata of society to cultivate the habit of reading, with a view to a greater number of more educated and enterprising youth, for whom the party in power (MPLA) will be responsible for adequately preparing the militants, sympathizers and friends of the JMPLA for the \u201cwork harder and communicate better\u201d sequence.<\/p>\n

In turn, the 1st secretary of JMPLA in Cuando Cubango, Severino Sawanda, said that the organization has a strong and great mission to contribute to the promotion of young Angolans in the various areas of daily life, translated into technical-professional, cultural, recreational, productive, scientific and technological.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that the MPLA youth organization has also contributed to young Angolans participating in the defense and preservation of peace, national reconciliation and sustainable development and greater protection of the environment.<\/p>\n

He said that the fair, which takes place in Largo Dr. Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, aims to cultivate the spirit and patriotic education in youth, taking as an example the figure of the 1st President of the Republic, who fought to make Angola free from slavery and lay the foundations for the its development.<\/p>\n

According to the young politician, the fair, which features an exhibition of more than four thousand different books, is intended to highlight national culture and the cultural side of Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n

The fair also features an exhibition of African fabrics and manufactured utensils that represent Angolan culture, in its broadest dimension and context of its people.<\/p>\n
