Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The first Technology and Data Processing Center (Data Center) in Angola begins to be built this September, in the municipality of Cacuaco, in Luanda, in an initiative by the Pan-African Raxio Data Center Group.<\/b><\/p>\n

The announcement was made this Wednesday, in Luanda, by the executive officer of the Raxio Group, Robert Mullins, during the laying of the first stone for the beginning of the construction of the respective infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The implementation of the center, valued at around 20 million US dollars, is the seventh infrastructure of its kind to be built in Africa, after Co\u0302te d’Ivoire, Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Tanzania and Uganda.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, after the laying of the first stone, Robert Mullins highlighted that the construction of the project in Angola, lasting one year, includes the expansion and doubling of the center’s capacity in the country.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the project will create new jobs, both in the construction and operational phases, which will rely on experienced technicians to support local workers.<\/p>\n

According to the person responsible, 100 percent of the Data Center’s workforce will be local, in addition to creating indirect jobs.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Raxio Group official said that the initial potential customers to benefit from the Center’s services are connectivity operators and large companies, such as financial companies, users of IT equipment and providers of local or international content and services.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the district administrator of Cacuaco, Ada\u0303o Valentim, praised the advantages of implementing the project in the municipality, highlighting the creation of jobs for young people.<\/p>\n

The laying of the first stone was attended by traditional authorities, employees of the aforementioned business group and representatives of the embassies of the United States of America and France, among other individuals.<\/p>\n
