Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Republic of Angola assumed this week, in Brazil, the presidency of the Fiscal Council of the General Assembly of the Association of Portuguese-Speaking African Countries (PALOP), a body that brings together the entities responsible for the management, registration and maintenance of Portuguese-speaking areas in Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release sent this Friday, the country will remain in this presidency for a period of four years.<\/p>\n

The presidency of Angola was assumed during the general assembly of this body, which was attended by the Angolan delegation from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, made up of the director of the Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society, Matias Borges, and the national director of Telecommunications, Andre\u0301 Pedro.<\/p>\n

Alongside this event, the two directors also participated in the first Lusophone Internet Governance Forum, which took place from the 18th to the 19th of this month, in the City of Sa\u0303o Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

During this event, which brought together experts from bodies responsible for managing, registering and maintaining domains, as well as companies and universities from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal and Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe, participants reflected on themes such as \u201cPortuguese Language on the Internet\u201d, \u201cArtificial Intelligence\u201d and \u201cPortuguese Language Initiatives for digital training and internet governance\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the initiative was also launched to produce a small “Lusophone Internet Almanac”.<\/p>\n
