Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>French President Emmanuel Macron advocated, this Friday, in Paris, the need to bring greater dynamism to France\/Angola cooperation, with emphasis on the area of \u200b\u200bagriculture.<\/b><\/p>\n

The French Head of State defended this position during the accreditation ceremony of the Angolan ambassador to France, Guilhermina Prata.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Emmanuel Macron also emphasized the role of President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o in stability and peace in the African region.<\/p>\n

Recently, in an interview, the Angolan diplomat highlighted as a priority for her consulate the strengthening of cooperation in the fields of education, agriculture, health and culture, as well as French investment in the country.<\/p>\n

Guilhermina Prata, who took over the Angolan Embassy in France in January this year, said that these are areas that, when developed, contribute to the training, nutrition, well-being of citizens and improving conditions in the country.<\/p>\n

The diplomat’s mission is also to promote greater inclusion of the Angolan community in France, through the creation of meetings, cultural activities and the celebration of the most important dates, so that they do not feel left out, but, rather, welcomed.<\/p>\n

Angola\/France Cooperation<\/p>\n

France has maintained diplomatic relations with Angola since our Independence. A first agreement signed in 1982 laid the foundations for bilateral cooperation. Since then, this has expanded, including visits by delegations from both countries.<\/p>\n

It is the second largest foreign investor and one of the main private employers in Angola.<\/p>\n

In 2018, the two countries signed three agreements during the visit of Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, to Luanda, in the air sector, a framework agreement in agriculture and a framework agreement in the tourism sector. .<\/p>\n

Data from the French Embassy in Angola shows that, in the first nine months of 2021, exports to the country stood at 178.2 million euros, an increase of 26.4% compared to the same period in 2020.<\/p>\n

Inside<\/p>\n

Born on May 8, 1952, Guilhermina Prata has a degree in Law from Universidade Agostinho Neto (1985) and a master’s degree in Legal and Business Sciences from the same institution. She was a deputy to the National Assembly, minister of Justice and vice-president of the Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n

She is a member of the Association of Angolan Jurists and the International Federation of Women in Legal Careers. She was a member of the National Assembly’s Occasional Constitutional Review Commission, the Constitutional Commission and the Technical Commission for Constitutional Questions.<\/p>\n

Appointed on January 20th this year, she will represent Angola in the French Republic, the Kingdom of Monaco and Liechtenstein. The latter, whose capital is the city of Vaduz, is a German-speaking principality, 25 kilometers long, between Austria and Switzerland.<\/p>\n
