Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Playwrights in the province of Moxico highlighted this Saturday, in Luena, the growth of performing arts in the region, due to the influx of the public to the performance halls.<\/b><\/p>\n

When regarding the evolution of theater in the province, the spokesperson and playwright of the Sambuquila theater group, Joa\u0303o Sawendo, pointed out that the turnout at the theaters is the result of the quality of the plays shown, with themes of a social and cultural.<\/p>\n

He explained that the evolution of the work of art makers takes more than 500 people to exhibition venues such as Cine Teatro Luena, where tickets are sold from a thousand kwanzas, and whose monetary value collected is shared with the private manager of the space .<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Sawendo highlighted that the performing arts, which are cultural activities that entertain children, young people and adults, generally portray themes that contribute to restoring the habits and customs of a given people.<\/p>\n

For his part, the artistic director of the Visa\u0303o Dom Bosco theater group, Vi\u0301ctor Kandala, stated that despite the public’s acceptance and turnout at the performance venues, \u201cit is not possible to sustain the expenses incurred in preparing an activity\u201d.<\/p>\n

He recognized that to attract the public it is necessary to invest in advertising, props and security at the location.<\/p>\n

He informed that, annually, each theater group shows three to five plays and raises amounts of around 80 thousand to 140 thousand kwanzas at each event.<\/p>\n

The lack of rehearsal rooms and policies aimed at theater continue to be problems for those performing arts in Moxico, said the artistic director of the theater group \u201cTree that gives the fruit\u201d, Anto\u0301nio Chinhama\u201d.<\/p>\n

The director, whose group has existed since 2007, defended the need for there to be interest from people of law and local businesspeople in giving life to theater, similar to the importance they give to other arts in the province.<\/p>\n

The head of department of Cultural Action at the Provincial Office of Culture in Moxico, Lui\u0301s Esteva\u0303o, highlighted the evolution of theater and other arts in practice.<\/p>\n

He assured that the province has a room available for theater exhibitions, at the Casa da Cultura, with a capacity for 175 seats, the use of which is open to the public.<\/p>\n

Exchange of experience and passing on testimony<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Chinhama argued, on the other hand, that the province’s theater groups should be financially supported, to hold lectures, artistic training and theater marathons, being a form of exchanging experience with those of other parts of the country.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Vi\u0301ctor Kandala, artistic director of the Visa\u0303o Dom Bosco theater group, reported that the group has been providing performing arts training to children aged eight to 13, to \u201cpass testimony\u201d.<\/p>\n

The province of Moxico only participated three times in the National Theater Festival, the extinct group \u201cArte Kissonde\u201d, between 1997 and 2012.<\/p>\n
