Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The national senior women’s handball team faces a similar team from Senegal, in the first round of the Pre-Olympic Tournament taking place in Luanda (Angola), from the 11th to the 14th of October.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is the second match in just over a year when they met in the semi-finals of the 2022 African Championship, in Dakar, with Angola winning 24-21.<\/p>\n

A hard-earned triumph at the time, the African champions needed extra time to confirm their superiority, after a 20-goal draw in regulation time.<\/p>\n

If in that event the Senegalese women had the support of their audience, this time the Angolan women will enjoy the warmth of the spectators, in the Kilamba Multiu\u0301sos pavilion.<\/p>\n

According to a communication from the African Handball Confederation (CAHB), published on its official website, the opening round also includes the match between the teams of Congo and Cameroon.<\/p>\n

In the second round, the Angolan team, coached by Vivaldo Eduardo, faces the Democratic Republic of Congo, a team they defeated 35-22 in the previous continental championship.<\/p>\n

On the same day, Senegal plays Cameroon.<\/p>\n

At the end of the competition, the national team will face Cameroon. Last African, Angola beat this same opponent in the final, 29-19.<\/p>\n

Senegal and DRC evolve later.<\/p>\n

In this event, Angola is looking for its 10th appearance at the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

The continental champions made their debut in competitions of this kind in the Atlanta 1996 edition, and their last appearance was in Tokyo 2021.<\/p>\n
