Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Only 86 hotel and restaurant units are currently available in the province of Zaire, a figure considered insufficient to meet the growing demand from tourists visiting the region.<\/b><\/p>\n

This observation was made this Wednesday, in Mbanza Kongo, by the head of the Tourism department of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Abia Grac\u0327a Fortuna.<\/p>\n

The official, who was speaking to the press, explained that the province of Zaire has only eight hotels, 19 guesthouses, 29 guesthouses, one aparthotel, 21 restaurants, three snack bars and five low and medium category snack bars.<\/p>\n

Much of this equipment, according to the source, is concentrated in the municipalities of Soyo and Mbanza Kongo.<\/p>\n

The head of Zaire’s tourism department appealed to the national and foreign business class to invest more in the province, stressing that there is potential that can generate good business and profits.<\/p>\n

He revealed that, from January to September of the current year, six thousand and 241 tourists, including nationals and foreigners, visited the historic center of Mbanza Kongo, registered as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, on July 8, 2017.<\/p>\n

Abia Grac\u0327a Fortuna was speaking on the sidelines of a lecture on the \u201cIssuance and use of operating licenses for catering establishments and similar establishments\u201d, as part of the celebrations of September 27th, International Tourism Day.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the director of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Nzuzi Makiese, listed as potential tourist attraction areas in the region, the Mbridge river falls, in the municipality of Cuimba, the Nza-Evua caves (Mbanza Kongo ), Ponta de Padra\u0303o and Porto do Mpinda (Soyo), the course of the Zaire river (No\u0301qui), the overlying rock of Musserra (Nzeto), among others.<\/p>\n
