Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The activist Celina Ana Manuel Luvindja was elected, this Friday, secretary of the OMA in the province of Huambo, with 96.7 percent, during the 1st extraordinary assembly of the MPLA women’s organization.<\/b><\/p>\n

Celina Luvindja, 47 years old, replaces activist Dolina Nassoco\u0301pia Miguel Tchinhama, who leaves the position after two years and eight months, due to incompatibility of roles.<\/p>\n

Until then, the new executive director of OMA in Huambo performed the role of first secretary of the MPLA in the municipality of Ucuma.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Celina Luvindja chose the strengthening of basic structures, the fight against illiteracy and the mediation of legal conflicts, with a focus on family cohesion, as one of the main objectives of her mandate.<\/p>\n

He said that the OMA, as the guardian of society’s morality, will continue to promote peace in families, dialogue and sharing of facts.<\/p>\n

To this end, she requested the collaboration of all OMA activists, friends and supporters of the organization, with the aim of promoting women’s empowerment and combating poverty, through encouraging entrepreneurship and promoting agricultural practices.<\/p>\n

In turn, the representative of the Monitoring Group of the OMA National Secretariat for the province of Huambo, Manuela Gaspar, encouraged the current leader of the organization in this region to continue with actions to strengthen the party and President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe count on you to continue the OMA’s action program and the responsibilities attributed to this organization by the party, in the same dimension as the outgoing one, increasingly improving the group’s performance in the province of Huambo, to make it the strong cradle of the MPLA stronger\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The official praised the engagement, patriotic sense, dedication and party conviction demonstrated by the outgoing secretary, a fact that contributed, among many things, to the foundations of the organization and the victory of the parties, in the general elections of August 24, 2022.<\/p>\n

Under the motto \u201cAngolan Woman \u2013 Participation, Inclusion and Development\u201d, the meeting was attended by 546 delegates.<\/p>\n

OMA was founded in 1962 in Leopoldville, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo, by a group of Angolan women, members of the philanthropic association called \u201cKudiango\u0301\u201d.<\/p>\n

Since 2022, the organization has celebrated its anniversary on January 10th, in honor of the co-founders Deolinda Rodrigues, Lucre\u0301cia Paim, Maria Euge\u0301nia, Teresa Afonso, Irene Cohen, Ruth Neto, among others.<\/p>\n
