Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Port of Luanda will hold, on October 5th, a conference on \u201cCorruption and Related Offenses\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release from the institution, the agenda includes addressing and discussing issues related to strengthening coordination between institutions that interact with Porto, to increase stakeholder confidence and cooperation in the national plan to combat corruption.<\/p>\n

The speakers will also talk about \u201cCorruption Risk Management and Related Offenses in the Luanda Port Company\u201d, \u201cThe Role of Compliance in Fraud Prevention\u201d, \u201cThe Intervention of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Repression of Corruption and Related Offenses\u201d, \u201c Transparency as a Decisive Factor in the Prevention of Corruption\u201d and \u201cThe Role of Internal Audit in the Prevention of Corruption and Related Offenses\u201d.<\/p>\n

The event, which will feature the participation of national experts, will take place within the scope of Porto’s confirmation and reaffirmation in relation to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNPG), with an emphasis on combating corruption.<\/p>\n

According to the director of the Internal Audit Office of the Port of Luanda, Pascoal Mambo, the administration of the Port of Luanda seeks, in this way, to promote the involvement of its workforce in the prevention, detection and repression of corruption, as well as to discipline the behavior of port worker, through the promotion of ethics and transparency.<\/p>\n

The Port of Luanda operates within the transport, logistics, supply chain and storage segment.<\/p>\n

It is the largest logistics platform in Angola and the main entry and exit point for goods in the country.<\/p>\n

It has a General Cargo Terminal, a Multipurpose Terminal, a Container Terminal, a Support Base for Petroleum Activity, a Multipurpose Terminal, a Fuel Terminal and a Passenger Terminal that guarantees the maritime connection between Luanda, Soyo and Cabinda.<\/p>\n

Its management model is the Land Lord Port, in which the operation of the terminals is controlled by private entities, regulated and supervised by the Port Administration, personified by the Port Company of Luanda.<\/p>\n
