Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Vive\u0302ncia Brito is the new secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA), in Cunene, elected during the 1st Extraordinary Assembly, which took place in the city of Ondjiva.<\/b><\/p>\n

Vive\u0302ncia Brito, who replaces Lucia Sincopela, was elected with 362 votes in favor, corresponding to 97.58 percent of the 371 valid votes.<\/p>\n

In her first intervention, Vive\u0302ncia Brito, said that the focus is to continue strengthening the organizational and mobilizing capacity of the OMA, as a way of guaranteeing and preserving the MPLA’s victories.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to developing actions aimed at promoting public social policies, related to issues of gender equality, dignity and education of Angolan women at different levels\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

He said that they will also prioritize training actions to combat illiteracy and with special attention to rural women, through the revitalization of the Deolinda Rodrigues brigades.<\/p>\n

Vive\u0302ncia Brito highlighted that these and other actions will require a spirit of unity from women affiliated with this wonderful female organization of the party, so that they are aligned efficiently and effectively.<\/p>\n

The outgoing secretary, Lucia Sincopela, thanked the activists for their contribution and involvement in the activities carried out during their mandate for allowing the party to win the last general elections.<\/p>\n

He said he will always be available to provide his support to the elected secretary, asking activists to do the same, so that the organization remains strong.<\/p>\n

At the closing of the event, the deputy coordinator of the monitoring group for the province of Cunene, Ju\u0301lia Cangari, called for unity and engagement of OMA activists to implement the party’s actions and improve the living conditions of the communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn these new roles, the focus must be on the political and ideological training of women, to guarantee the skills of human capital and the dynamics in the country’s development, from a social, economic and political point of view\u201d, he appealed.<\/p>\n

Ju\u0301lia Cangari highlighted the role played by the outgoing secretariat and the support provided by the party, the same attention to be given to the elected official, to keep the OMA’s dynamics alive in this province.<\/p>\n

The event, which took place under the motto “Angolan woman, participation, inclusion and development\u201d, was witnessed by the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in office in Cunene, Jose\u0301 Veyelenge.<\/p>\n
