Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The improvement in the provision of services on the Benguela Railway (CFB) trains, with the aim of providing humanized service to passengers, was analyzed last Friday, in Luena, at the headquarters of the Provincial Government of Moxico.<\/b><\/p>\n

During a joint meeting between members of the Provincial Government of Moxico and representatives of the CFB, topics were discussed regarding the need to provide a more humanized service to the population.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the vice-governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Vi\u0301ctor da Silva, considered the services provided by the CFB in the region to be worrying and “inoperative”, creating countless difficulties for the population that uses trains to travel to the municipalities of the region. interior and neighboring provinces.<\/p>\n

The leader defended the need to change the company’s current framework for transporting passengers, avoiding duplication and overcrowding of carriages, a situation that could jeopardize the safety of the population and the image of governance.<\/p>\n

“The train should not take people as if they were goats, the services need to be humanized”, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

The person in charge was also concerned about the lack of hygiene inside the carriages and ventilation system to make travel comfortable.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the CFB inspection coordinator, Eduardo Kapenda, recognized the difficulties faced by users, however, he pointed out the weak supply capacity in relation to demand as the main factor contributing to disorganization, requesting Government advocacy for the acquisition of new locomotives to increase frequencies.<\/p>\n

According to the person responsible, the current carriages were acquired in 2012 and show a high level of degradation.<\/p>\n

To reverse this reality, he said that the company’s management is developing an organizational plan for better service provision.<\/p>\n

People ask for more trains<\/p>\n

The population of the municipality of Cameia, Moxico province, recently requested an increase in train frequencies on the Benguela Railway, on the Luena\/Luau route, to facilitate the movement of passengers and flow of products in these regions .<\/p>\n

The concern was presented to the governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, who works in that district, which is 102 kilometers from Luena, the provincial capital, during a public consultation meeting with the population.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, pastor Evaristo Caumba, from the Pentecostal Assembly of God church, said that currently the Benguela Railway (CFB) trains have three weekly frequencies, a number that he considers insufficient, judging by the high demand for services.<\/p>\n

This opinion was corroborated by resident Artur Cambinda, who lamented the constant pushback that the phenomenon has caused at the time of boarding, also defending the construction of the National Road (EN) 250, to boost commercial exchanges.<\/p>\n
