Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than 200 employees of the Footwear and Uniform Manufacturing Company (EFCU-EP) passed out on Monday morning, in Luanda, presumably due to chemical poisoning.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the first secretary of the Union Committee of the aforementioned company attached to the Ministry of Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Lui\u0301s Manuel Dumbo, the fainting started first in the boot factory and later in the uniform factory, due to the inhalation of toxic substances resulting from disinfestation. held on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The union leader explained that before the arrival of the firefighters and the National Medical Emergency Institute (INEMA), with their own resources, some employees were transferred to nearby hospital units.<\/p>\n

In turn, the general director, Artur Tombia, said he did not know the specific reasons for fainting in the factories, because the disinfestation of the facilities has been carried out since 2019, under the responsibility of the company Bioprom.<\/p>\n

Artur Tombia informed that they invited those responsible for the service providing company to provide more details about the products used.<\/p>\n

On the Bioprom company side, its manager, Morais Canga, suspects that the ventilation and cleaning measures were not followed, which could be the cause of the fainting.<\/p>\n

Morais Canga guaranteed that there was no increase in the composition of products for disinfestation, on the one hand, and on the other hand, it was not harmful.<\/p>\n

He explained that the factory is closed and it is advisable to leave it to air for more than three hours.<\/p>\n

The head of the Health section of the 11 de Novembro Urban District, Caetano Nimi, highlighted that the provisional data indicate the control of 132 users taken to Hospital dos Cajueiros, Centros de Sau\u0301de do Progresso and Sambizanga, in addition to those who were taken to Ame\u0301rico Boavida and Josina Machel, by colleagues with other means.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo far, the situation of users is under control and they present mild symptoms, with a possible discharge within the next few hours\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The person responsible also suspects that there has been poisoning due to a substance used during the disinfestation.<\/p>\n
