Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Artists and cultural agents should prioritize the recording of folk songs, aiming to promote and enhance cultural diversity, defended, this Monday, the head of department of Cultural Action in the province of Cunene, Ade\u0301rito Armando.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a statement, regarding World Music Day, celebrated on Sunday, he explained that the province of Cunene is rich in this style of music, but they are not recorded on video or audio, which makes their authorship, dissemination and preservation impossible.<\/p>\n

Ade\u0301rito Armando clarified that folk songs and dances constitute cultural wealth, which only remain in oral learning, stressing that recorded music could provide cultural tourism.<\/p>\n

To this end, he said it is essential that agents work to promote and enhance it, so that the province’s cultural values \u200b\u200bare well preserved and pass on the testimony to new generations.<\/p>\n

The person responsible maintained that music serves to demonstrate their cultural expressions, through their origin and way of life, respecting cultural differences.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs music is one of man\u2019s cultural diversities, it has the role of uniting, communicating, informing and healing psycho-emotional pain\u201d, he clarified.<\/p>\n

The culture office in Cunene controls 200 artists registered in the six municipalities.<\/p>\n

World Music Day is celebrated on October 1st, with the aim of valuing and promoting the creators of this cultural art, as well as promoting musical diversity.<\/p>\n
