Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Caxilo\/Ndalatanto road section, on national road 230\/120, covering a distance of 45 kilometers, began to be rehabilitated (Tuesday), after the contract was awarded.<\/b><\/p>\n

The work, carried out by the contractor Omatapalo – Engenharia e Construc\u0327o\u0303es, is budgeted at more than 55 billion and will guarantee, in the first phase, 320 jobs.<\/p>\n

The contract involves the laying of pavements, public lighting, sidewalks, as well as the implementation of porticos and works of art.<\/p>\n

The rehabilitation of this section will improve road circulation between the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza Norte, Malanje and Lundas Norte and Sul.<\/p>\n

The work is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning (Minopot) and the Angolan Roads Institute and will last 24 months.<\/p>\n

Fernando Carlos Fortunato, representing Minopot, and Augusto Joaquim Sequeira, for the company, initialed the document for the consignment of the contract.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Public Works and Urbanism, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, highlighted that the Caxilo\/Ndalatando section, on national roads 230\/120, is extremely important, taking into account the provinces it connects.<\/p>\n

He guaranteed that the project to redevelop the Caxilo\/Maria Teresa section, with around 68 kilometers of road, will be launched this year.<\/p>\n

This work, he said, is complementary to the rehabilitation of the Maria Teresa\/Catete section, whose works began on Monday.<\/p>\n

The ministry, he informed, still has a challenge of around 1000 kilometers of road from Luanda\/Cuanza Norte\/ Malanje\/ Lunda Norte and Sul, on which work has also started.<\/p>\n

The project, according to the minister, will allow the construction of a much safer and more robust road, which will go from nine to almost 12 meters long and with a better pavement solution.<\/p>\n

He said that the Government plans to install scales to hold truck drivers responsible for driving with excessive loads and causing damage to the pavement, for the conservation of infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The governor of Cuanza Norte, Pedro Makita Armando Ju\u0301lia, highlighted the importance of redeveloping the section to improve road circulation, mainly due to the fact that the province is the hub from Luanda to the Center, South, East and North of country.<\/p>\n

He stated that this act corresponds to the recent speech by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Manuel Lourenc\u0327o, in the province of Malanje, in which he requested intervention on the Ndalatando\/Maria Teresa section.<\/p>\n

This work, he continued, associated with what is being done in Cambondo (Golungo Alto), passing through Kiluanji, to Kilombo dos Dembos, headquarters of the municipality of Ngonguembo and in Samba\/Caju\/Banga\/Quiculungo\/Bolongongo, will guarantee better circulation of people and goods and the flow of agricultural products.<\/p>\n
