Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than thirty Angolans, residing in Senegal, received this Monday, in Dakar, the first consular cards, in an initiative by the Angolan Embassy, \u200b\u200bwhich promotes a free registration campaign, which is expected to reach more than 200 national citizens.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Angolan ambassador to that country, Ada\u0303o Pinto, said that the act reflects a legal imperative and the normal functioning of the Diplomatic Mission, which has the duty to know and have control over its citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, dear compatriots, our Embassy only opened last year, it is new here in Senegal, which is why we have been working hard, over this time, in contact and interaction with our community”, he said.<\/p>\n

During his intervention, the diplomat encouraged those present to always be good citizens, basing their conduct within legality and the framework of good coexistence, reiterating the strict respect for compliance with Angolan laws and the country where they live.<\/p>\n

In turn, Orlando Bita, an Angolan citizen residing in Senegal for more than 10 years, welcomed the initiative, saying that this was something they had been waiting for for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have lived here for many years, but apart from our passport and our identity card, we did not have any other document with the use of a consular card\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n

The same feeling of satisfaction was expressed by citizen Florentina Sadio, stressing that the presence of the Diplomatic Mission in the country will facilitate certain acts typical of its nature, something that they greatly anticipated.<\/p>\n

This free consular registration campaign takes place within the scope of one of the different responsibilities of the Diplomatic Mission, which consists of controlling and monitoring the community under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, as well as the Convention on Consular Relations , 1963.<\/p>\n
