Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, reaffirmed, this Tuesday, the Angolan Executive’s commitment to exploring the potential for cooperation with Germany, in strategic sectors, beneficial to both countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a congratulatory message sent to his counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as part of the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of German Unity Day, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o also reaffirmed the need to expand friendly relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The Angolan Head of State paid tribute to the spirit of concord and fraternity that characterized this event, which had an impact on the history of Europe and the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn this crucial date for the reconciliation of the German people, when all the citizens of their country came together again under one and the same flag to rebuild Germany, as children of the same homeland, I want to join this celebration\u201d , the message reads.<\/p>\n

German Unity Day is a national holiday in Germany, celebrated on October 3rd since 1990, commemorating the country’s reunification.<\/p>\n

Angola and Germany established diplomatic relations in 1979.<\/p>\n

The two countries have projects that focus on the areas of infrastructure construction for the production of electricity, the pharmaceutical industry and the field of Hospital Construction and Management.<\/p>\n

In 2011 they created the Bilateral Commission, within the scope of the “Common Declaration of Intent\u201d. It is a platform for exchanging opinions of a general nature on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest, responsible for evaluating the development of cooperation.<\/p>\n
