Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Territory Administration, Marcy Lopes, said, Monday (14), in Luanda, that it is necessary for all citizens to participate in the ongoing Official Electoral Registration, in order to guarantee the transparency of the process, when he was speaking at the meeting with traditional and religious authorities residing in the country’s capital.<\/b><\/p>\n

“We have nothing to hide, on the contrary. We need the participation of churches, traditional authorities and all citizens in this process”, he said, stressing that sobas, religious leaders and any citizens can visit the places where they are working. the One-Stop Public Service Desks (BUAP), without any impediment, to observe the level of organization and service to citizens and that this participation guarantees better the transparency of the process.<\/p>\n

At the meeting that took place in the auditorium of the Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto Memorial, minister Marcy Lopes interacted with representatives of religious denominations and traditional authorities.<\/p>\n

Participants at the meeting presented several questions about the process, with emphasis on the need to extend the electoral registration period, at a time when there are only 16 days to go. He mentioned that there is no certainty about the extension of the deadline. The lack of material conditions for the<\/p>\n

The access of citizens to voter registration is also one of the issues raised and the minister Marcy Lopes stressed that there are only subsidies for technicians who carry out registration in the BUAP and that for civil society the State does not have the conditions, due to the financial difficulties arising from the current context.<\/p>\n

One of the issues raised is also the possibility that citizens can register via the Internet, due to the distances and cost of travel, which the minister said is not possible and it is necessary for each citizen to go to the registration post and say in which place you want to vote.<\/p>\n
