Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, reaffirmed, on Friday, in the municipality of Cachiungo, Huambo province, the Executive’s commitment to working towards the social well-being of the population.<\/b><\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, who was speaking during a meeting with rural women from this locality, highlighted that the Government continues to identify sustainable solutions in order to overcome difficulties, especially among women, who make up around 80 percent of the workforce in the family farming in the country.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the resilience of women in various areas of society and called for class unity, with a view to achieving policies that support their activity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are certain that, with a large area of \u200b\u200barable land in the country, we women will continue to make our contribution to achieving food security\u201d, she said, alluding to the availability of fertilizers, one of the biggest concerns raised by peasant women in the municipality of Cachiungo.<\/p>\n

The Vice-President of the Republic also spoke of the Executive’s commitment to issues linked to violence and reproductive health, as this prevents the participation of women, especially girls, in accessing education.<\/p>\n

He stated that education will become more expansive, with the construction of schools and increasing literacy.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, in the municipality of Cachiungo, around 200 rural women called for more favorable policies on access to fertilizers,<\/p>\n

The provincial director of Family Social Action and Gender Equality, in Huambo, Fa\u0301tima Cawewe, highlighted the importance of the event, having mentioned that the guarantees for resolving problems, combined with the availability of inputs, open up good prospects for class.<\/p>\n

The meeting was part of the three-day working visit that the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, made to the province of Huambo, as part of monitoring the Education, Higher Education and Environment sectors.<\/p>\n
