Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The 72-hour working visit of the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, as part of monitoring the Education, Higher Education and Environment sectors, marked the political news of the last seven days. <\/b><\/p>\n

In the Central Plateau, where she disembarked on Wednesday, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, after a meeting with governor Lotti Nolika, was informed about the socio-economic situation of the province, visited the Center for Tropical Ecology and Climate Change (CETAC), Jose\u0301 University Eduardo dos Santos (UJES), Institute of Agricultural Research, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the works of the future Center for Bio-veterinary and Animal Vaccine Production.<\/p>\n

He was present at the Recycled Articles Fair in the city of Huambo and announced the existence of a fund worth 200 million US dollars to increase access to higher education in the country and guarantee quality in this sector.<\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, who was speaking during a meeting with the academic community, as part of a working visit to this province, informed that the fund was authorized by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in partnership with the World Bank.<\/p>\n

According to the Vice-President, the fund also aims to strengthen the management of new courses, postgraduate courses, curricular harmonization and gender equity.<\/p>\n

Also in Huambo, he urged the academic community, as a scientific arm, to support the implementation of programs aimed at food security in the country and to identify new strategies to ensure sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Another highlight is the reopening, by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, of the Neves Bendinha Specialized General Hospital, in Luanda, after extensive rehabilitation, expansion and equipping works.<\/p>\n

With this work, the also known “Hospital dos Queimados\u201d gains an increase of 1,500 m2 of useful area and the total installation of 93 new beds, three laboratories, an Intensive Treatment Unit and Telemedicine.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa declared that the Executive was committed to expanding a more robust, efficient, humanized health system and creating decent working conditions.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the Vice-President of the Republic received, in audience, the president of Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization), Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi and presided over the opening of the institution’s 26th African Regional Conference, held from 03 to 05 of current month, in Luanda.<\/p>\n

During the week, the message from the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, reaffirmed the Angolan Executive’s commitment to exploring the potential for cooperation with Germany, in strategic sectors, beneficial to both countries.<\/p>\n

In the congratulatory document sent to his counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as part of the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of German Unity Day, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o also reaffirmed the need to expand friendly relations.<\/p>\n

The Angolan Head of State paid tribute to the spirit of concord and fraternity that characterized this event, which had an impact on the history of Europe and the world.<\/p>\n

Another highlight has to do with the interview, given to ANGOP, exclusively, the full text of which will be published in the coming days, by the ambassador of the United States of America (USA) in Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, who highlighted Angola’s role in stabilizing the Region Great Lakes and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).<\/p>\n

According to the ambassador, Angola, in particular, and African countries, in general, can continue to count on the support and partnership of the United States of America to face current challenges.<\/p>\n

During the interview, he also spoke about cooperation between Angola and the USA, highlighting investments in the renewable energy sector, currently valued at USD 900 million.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with ANGOP, the full text of which will be published in the coming days, the diplomat said that the efforts of the Angolan President, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, are essential for maintaining peace and security in Central Africa, the Great Lakes region and SADC.<\/p>\n

The meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, and vice-president of the African Union (AU) Commission, Monique Nsanzabaganwa, who defended in Luanda the increase in the representation of Angolans in the organization’s system.<\/p>\n

The vice-president of the AU highlighted the country’s great contribution to the organization, which is why it should take advantage of its vacancies.<\/p>\n

The official also praised the role played by Angola in the pacification of member states, also highlighting the importance of its contribution to the implementation of projects within the framework of Agenda 2063.<\/p>\n
