Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, considered, this Friday, the outcome of the three-day working visit she carried out to the province of Huambo to be positive.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, in the municipality of Cachiungo, the last location of the intense day, the Vice-President argued her position with the fact that she has registered remarkable progress in higher education, as well as peace gains over the last two decades.<\/p>\n

He said that it was, above all, the result of strategies made by the Angolan Executive, within the scope of expanding access to higher education and improving the training offer, linked to the National Development Plan (PDN), which the Executive intends to develop.<\/p>\n

According to the Vice-President, the Executive is committed to improving the quality of education, as well as extending it to other provinces, in order to enhance development in these places.<\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a da Costa highlighted that, although positive, the intense working day also presented several challenges, for which he defends the incessant search for concrete solutions, such as continuous investment in human capital and the identification of infrastructures that can, in fact, galvanize the development of the province’s municipality.<\/p>\n

The Vice-President ended the visit, this Friday, in the municipality of Cachiungo, having met, behind closed doors, with local authorities, who made a socio-economic characterization of the municipality, located 63 kilometers from the center of the province.<\/p>\n

The day also included the completion of works on the Dondi University Campus and a visit to the Sanguengue Forest Pole, with around 9,000 hectares, of which 5,300 are remaining degraded eucalyptus forests and 3,000 are areas to be reforested.<\/p>\n

At the University Campus, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa found out about the progress of the works, an infrastructure financed by the Presidency of the Republic (six billion kwanzas), which is in the order of 82 percent completed.<\/p>\n

When completed, it will have 40 classrooms and 5,400 students, and will teach courses linked to the areas of health, agriculture, theology, arts and crafts.<\/p>\n

In this location, he also participated in a meeting with women from rural areas, a mass and visited the Cachiungo Water Treatment Plant.<\/p>\n

The working visit to Huambo was accompanied by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a, and the Secretaries of State for the Environment, Water, Agriculture, Health and Territorial Administration.<\/p>\n
