Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The asphalting of the Saurimo\/Muconda Road, covering a length of 191 kilometers, depends on the mobilization of financial resources for completion in 2024, revealed the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos.<\/b><\/p>\n

The asphalting of this route \u2013 Saurimo\/Muconda, according to the person responsible, includes the sections connecting to the municipalities of Chiluange, Cassai Sul and the town of Biu\u0301la, province of Lunda Sul.<\/p>\n

The minister made these statements at the end of a visit to the municipality of Muconda, where he noted the development of a ravine that threatens the official residence of the local administrator, the Catholic church and various infrastructures.<\/p>\n

He stated that, in 2024, with the mobilization of financial resources, men and machines, it will be possible to intervene on the roads to restore the good circulation of people and goods, as well as boost the rapid development of the region.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the aim is, with the requalification of the pavement, the construction of seven bridges, the recovery of the existing road, including its widening.<\/p>\n

In relation to the ravine, which threatens to destroy social infrastructures, Carlos dos Santos, issued guidelines for the construction company 7 Cunhas, during this month of October, to carry out an intervention.<\/p>\n

For his part, the governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, was satisfied with the inspection carried out by the Ministry of Public Works, given that, as a result of this, the works on the EN\/230 are proceeding smoothly and that within a few months Will be delivered.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that, due to this positive attitude, the bridge over the Mwangue\u0302z river, which connects Saurimo to the neighboring province of Lunda Norte, has been completed, an infrastructure that previously hindered the free movement of media, with greater incidence in the rainy season.<\/p>\n

Regarding roads 240 Muconda\/Luau, Muriege, Chiluange and Cassai Sul, Daniel Neto, stated that their rehabilitation will be a benefit, as they are close to the border with DRCongo, to allow the development of these areas.<\/p>\n

At this moment, Minister Carlos dos Santos and his delegation are working in the municipality of Luau, Moxico province, where he will witness the consignment of several works in that district.<\/p>\n

The municipality of Muconda is 191 kilometers northeast of the city of Saurimo, and has 42,164 inhabitants distributed across 11 districts, 18 neighborhoods, 12 towns and 28 villages. It is made up of four communes, namely Muconda, Cassai-Sul, Muriege and Chiluange.<\/p>\n

Muconda has potential in the cultivation of corn, rice, reindeer potatoes, sweet potatoes, cassava, in addition to vegetables, fruit growing, among other products.<\/p>\n
