Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Public Ministry (MP) asked the Lubango District Court, Monday, for the acquittal of the former administrator of Humpata, Paula Nassone, and six other defendants in the case, due to the “unsustainability” of the evidence.<\/b><\/p>\n

Co-defendant Paula Nassone, in charge of the municipality’s destinations in the consulate of the then governor Marcelino Tyipinge, is accused of the crimes of influence peddling, embezzlement, improper receipt of values \u200b\u200band violation of plan and budget execution rules, committed in 2014 to 2018, according to the Public Ministry\u2019s accusation.<\/p>\n

The defendants are listed in the same process, Maura Marques, his then secretary and owner of the company MIFM that provided administration services, indicted for the crimes of influence peddling, undue receipt of advantages, abuse of trust, as well as three businessmen and two technicians from administration, for the crime of abuse of trust and embezzlement.<\/p>\n

According to the MP magistrate Dorivaldo Domingos, from what happened and the conclusions they were able to draw during the four days of hearing, there is evidence of a certain involvement of the defendant Paula Nassone, as manager of the municipality, as she had contracts with several companies without compliance with the necessary requirements.<\/p>\n

Even so, he understands that during the investigation the MP did not bring the necessary evidence to convict them, and therefore asks for the acquittal of all defendants.<\/p>\n

In aid of the statements of witnesses Adalberto Ma\u0301quina and Edvaldo Pires, at the time of the events, director of the Legal Office and director of the Statistical Study and Planning Office(GEPE) of the Humpata municipal administration, respectively, the MP concluded that the defendant Paula Nassone did not comply with legal procedures.<\/p>\n

The Prosecutor’s Office, according to its representative, came to the conclusion that the defendant did not commit the crime of embezzlement, because the MP was unable to get to the bottom of it, in order to find out whether, within the scope of this management that the defendant carried out, she diverted public funds for her own benefit.<\/p>\n

As for the relationship that existed between the Humpar Municipal Administration and the OVC Company, the contracts it established with the latter do not appear to have been for its own benefit, because the co-defendant had its own resources, in order to advance the construction of schools. and other undertakings.<\/p>\n

For the MP, regarding the crime of violating the rules for implementing the plan and budget, perhaps the defendant committed it, through poor management, through irregular allocation of funds, but it is a crime that has been decriminalized, due to the entry into force of the new penal code.<\/p>\n

The defendant Maura Marques, is accused of the crimes of influence peddling, improper receipt of advantages and abuse of trust, and is also devoid of any evidence that is necessary and sufficient for her conviction.<\/p>\n

Because she was already providing services to that administration even before being classified as an employee, which created some binding confusion.<\/p>\n

In turn, the Judge of the case, Anacleto Kambuta, the Lubango District Court, will evaluate the evidence produced during the hearing sessions of the defendants, declarants and witnesses in the case, so that the final decision is the fairest.<\/p>\n

The Trial began on the fourth of this month, four sessions were held to produce proof of material truth, and the publication and discussion of the questions is scheduled for the 31st of this month.<\/p>\n
