Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of the Province of Zaire is considering holding a construction company criminally responsible for failing to meet contractual deadlines for a school with six classrooms, in the village of Tombe, commune of Buela, municipality of Cuimba.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is the company \u201cLCMIPAB-Constro\u0301i\u201d, to which the works were awarded in 2019, with completion scheduled for 2021.<\/p>\n

The intention was expressed on Monday, by the governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, at the end of his first working visit to the border commune of Buela.<\/p>\n

According to the governor, the project included in the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP) is valued at 42 million and 500 thousand kwanzas, an amount that was paid in full to the contractor.<\/p>\n

“The contractor has set a new date, November this year, for the completion of the work on this school. and we hope that he will fulfill what he promised, under penalty of being held criminally responsible”, reiterated the governor.<\/p>\n

However, contractor Pedro Alves Buanga alleged payment irregularities, as well as the rise in the price of construction materials on the market and the poor condition of the access road to Buela as reasons for the delay in completing the work.<\/p>\n

The physical execution of the works at the aforementioned educational establishment is in the order of 90 percent, with only the internal finishes missing, the installation of windows, doors, mosaics and a false ceiling.<\/p>\n

In the Buela commune, the governor of Zaire also noted the level of physical construction of three bridges on the Cuimba\/Buela section, as well as on the road between Buela and the village of Ngombe ya Ngombe, passing through the town of Mpangala.<\/p>\n

The commune of Buela borders the Democratic Republic of Congo, whose border post, where trade with the neighboring country takes place, was also visited by governor Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.<\/p>\n

A meeting with members of the local Community Consultation Council also marked the governor’s agenda in the Buela commune, located 32 kilometers north of the town of Cuimba.<\/p>\n

The commune occupies an area of \u200b\u200b585 square kilometers and has an estimated population of five thousand and 920 inhabitants who are dedicated to subsistence agriculture and border trade.<\/p>\n
